More New Pages

I know pretty much all of my posts lately have been new scrapbook pages. sorry! That's just the only thing I've made time to blog about these days. Right now my life is pretty busy but all in good ways - making time for school work, making time for myself and my hobbies... which is why you are seeing more scrapbook pages! :) I do have other things I want to post about but I just haven't been making that much time for blogging lately. I have a friend coming to visit me again this weekend, so I'm sure I'll have new pics and fun things to blog about when she leaves :) For now... enjoy the pages!

This is going in the front of my 2009 album. I love that the main color is light blue because it will match my album!

Wedding Summary Page:
Our wedding, crammed onto 2 pages. LOL! I plan to do an entire album, but I wanted a summary layout to put into my 2009 album to acknowledge this important even in our year :)

First Wedding Page

While this may not actually go in the wedding album, it is the first page I've done with one of our wedding photos. This is a whole new scrapping style for me. This is more the "fantasy" style whereas I usually do traditional paper style. I've never done a photo extraction before and it took forEVER!! Haha. But I am pretty happy with the result.

Here's the photo I started with for the extraction:

Favorite Layouts in 2009

I've been seeing a lot of people posting their favorite layouts they created in 2009... and I really wanted to do the same! I was going to do top ten, but I couldn't narrow it down so you get my top thirteen!! Haha. Not all of these events happened in 2009, but I scrapped them in 2009.

So here they are, my favorite layouts of 2009! Click any photo to see credits on Flickr and to be able to view them larger click the magnifying glass above the photo on Flickr.

Engaged!
Photos Taken: April 2008 Page Scrapped: January 2009
Our engagement photos - not pro ones, but the ones that my best friend took of us the day after he proposed :) And of course, the ring!

Where We're Getting Married:
Photos Taken: May 2008 Page Scrapped: January 2009
Photos from our visit to our wedding location... a beautiful garden setting! (We are married now!)

Telluride & Ouray:
Photos Taken: May 2008 Page Scrapped: January 2009
This is from one of our local trips here in Colorado... and the first time I really went all out with a whole blended-photo background... which has now become a favorite thing of mine! My husband liked this one so much we framed it and hung it in our house!
Telluride & Ouray - 2 Pages

Forever:
Photos Taken: December 2008 Page Scrapped: April 2009
This one still touches my heart. I just loved the day we saw our wedding rings together for the first time. This was also an unusual style for me and I played around with selective color. I'm so pleased with the result!

Butterflies in St. Martin:
Photos Taken: May 2008 Page Scrapped: April 2009
These butterfly photos are ones I took on a trip to the Carribbean. I love butterflies and the bright colors on this page make me so happy!

Haghia Sophia:
Photos Taken: May 2007 Page Scrapped: August 2009
These photos are from my trip to Greece and Turkey in 2007 - This is a building in Istanbul, Turkey. I am stil struggling my way through finishing this album but I love how this page turned out. I am tempted to do the entire album in this style, ignoring the pages I've already completed and just start over in this style. I think I would finish it much more quickly that way.

Topkapi Palace:
Photos Taken: May 2007 Page Scrapped: August 2009
Another page from my Greece and Turkey album... this one is also in Istanbul, Turkey.

Valentine's Weekend 2009
Photos Taken: February 2009 Page Scrapped: August 2009
One of our favorite weekend cabin getaways ever!! The place was so charming and we have a romantic and lovely time.
Valentine's Weekend 2009

Geocaching at Stanley Hotel:
Photos Taken: March 2009 Page Scrapped: August 2009
Geocaching is a hobby of ours, it's basically a treasure hunting game with GPS. I love this page because of the Stanley hotel photo which I think really came out looking like it could have been taken when the hotel was built 100 years ago!

Wedding Crafts:
Photos Taken: March-May 2009 Page Scrapped: August 2009
These are photos from making centerpieces, favors, and other wedding crafts with my mom and maid of honor. I love the clean look and bright colors of this page, and the alpha and glitter are great too!

Centerpieces & Favors

Estes Park:
Photos Taken: May 2009 Page Scrapped: October 2009
Another one of my fave blended-photo-background layouts. This was a fun trip with my friends and soon to be hubby!

Bridesmaid Spa Day:
Photos Taken: May 2009 Page Scrapped: December 2009
A recently done page - my bridesmaids spa day / tea luncheon the day before my wedding! What I love about this page is the soft colors & relaxing feel and I just feel like it came out better than I hoped.
Spa Day & Tea Time Layout

Wedding Prep:
Photos Taken: May 2009 Page Scrapped: December 2009
All of these photos were taken on my wedding day leading up to the big moment. I love the way this layout turned out and how clean and simple it is, and the gradient background I created.

So there you have it! My fave layouts of 2009! If you have done a similar blog post, leave me a link in the comments because I would LOVE to see it!!!

What I learned looking back on this is that I have not done nearly enough scrapping in 2009. I would go 2 months without scrapping, do a bunch in one week, then go 2 months without any, and repeat. This year I hope to scrap on a more regular basis, and get my large albums done such as Greece & Turkey, Wedding, and Honeymoon in Alaska!!!

Old House, New Layouts

These two new layouts are of our old house... one is from all the fixing up we did to get it ready to sell, and the other is how it looked when it was on the market. We miss the place!!! It was time to move on, but still sad to go. We are happy in our new temporary home until we make it into our dream house :)

Two New Layouts

Do you ever buy a kit, or get it in a grab bag, and think.... I might use this once... and then it turns out to be extremely versatile?! Well for me that kit is Dani Mogstad's Softly Falling. I got it as part of my purchase of The Digi Files #8. So averaged out, it cost me maaaybe 75 cents? lol and I have used it on some great pages already.

I really thought with the fall theme, and the fact I dont' really take fall photos much, this would not get much use. But I've already used it on this layout and this layout too. And now, a 3rd one!!

Coffee, Blogging, Scrapping, Oh My!

Reason # 214,873 of why I love my friend Raina ... she loves the computer as much as I do!!! Every time I've thought, surely you must be bored, she says "I've got HEAPS more photos to upload to Facebook!" :) Ahhh Raina, we truly are kindred spirits!

We started off our day on Saturday at Einstein's Bagels because she'd really enjoyed it on her last visit. I played it safe with ordering an old favorite, while Raina shocked me by ordering a green chile bagel with jalapeno salsa cream cheese. Wow! And she loved every minute of it! That's the goal :)

Raina @ Einstein's

After breakfast I decided to take her to Forza Coffee. She isn't a Starbucks fan so I wanted her to be able to try some other places while here. She liked their coffee a LOT more. We had a great time hanging out there on our laptops!!

I love that Raina is a computer nerd just like Ian and me :) Every time I think surely she must be bored she says "I've got heaps of photos to upload and heaps of blogging to do!" Yeeeeeeah!! I got to do blogging at Forza, AND scrapbooking!! yay yay yay

When we got hungry for lunch a few hours later, we headed to Panera Bread to eat lunch and continue with computer time :-D

Me @ Panera Bread

It was such a fun day and I wish I could just repeat it!! We went to Zoo Lights that night too (photos coming soon!) so it was an awesome day.

The scrapbook layouts I worked on got finished up last night so those are posting next!
