Been Busy

Hey guys! I've been really busy lately now that my aunt is living here... lots of helping her shop for things and learn her way around... doing some digi scrapping with her... etc. Also of course keeping things up with my house for showings - that takes some time each day. Nothing new to report with the house situation right now. I have plans for getting back to regular blogging here but it just hasn't happened yet!!!

I do have a new blog entry I just posted at Ian & Christie... Ghost Town Run 2009. That's the 4 wheeling trip we took two weekends ago. Please check it out and leave us a comment over there! :) Usually I post in both places but I'm just not up to it right now LOL... it took me 3 hours to write that blog entry. Plus I had other things to say here :)

This past weekend we had a really great time. We went to the Land Cruiser Rally on Saturday, and on Sunday we took a drive up to Mt Evans for the day - over 14,000 ft in elevation! Then had dinner with my parents and aunt... my dad cooked! I will have photos of the weekend's events, but I seem to be behind on all that stuff so not sure when just yet :) Anyway it was a really nice weekend, though :)

I'd also like to share my new scrapbook pages for those who haven't seen them yet. :) I've taken a break from Greece & Turkey to start my regular 2009 book finally. I think when I get up to the point of the wedding, then I'll go back to the Greece & Turkey book for a while before tackling the wedding and honeymoon albums.

And I even have another page in progress right now :) I'm trying to get as much scrapping done as humanly possible before starting my classes next week, since I have idea how much time they will take up for me. I hope I can continue scrapping while in school, but I'm sure it will be at a slower page. Having my aunt here helps me get so much more scrapping done!! Plus now that one of my friends is digiscrapping too, that really helps.

Just over a week til I start classes - next Wednesday! I'm definitely excited.

Right now Ian and I are trying to plan our little getaway in September for his birthday... to go hiking at Hanging Lake. And I'm gearing up for my trip back to Chicago in two weeks!

That's all the news for now... stay tuned :)

Madeline

I have been awake for a couple of hours now in the middle of the night. Not sure why, I just feel so awake! I was perusing the internet and checking my Flickr page for new photos from my contacts. I was looking through Matt Logelin's new photos. Matt Logelin has this blog: Matt, Liz and Madeline, that I've been reading for over a year. His wife passed away less than 24 hours after giving birth to their daughter. He is now a single dad raising his daughter, loving her fiercely, and missing his wife every day. His positive attitude humbles me... and yet he does share his darker moments when he misses his wife almost too much to bear, and feels bitter about life being this way for him. I admire his honesty and openness. Reading his blog, I almost feel like I know him. He has a huge following on his blog and has used his bit of fame to benefit other families by starting the Liz Logelin Foundation in honor of his late wife. They run a promotion for $7 on the 7th and urge people to donate to this cause. I am adding a banner to my sidebar and I will be posting this again on the 7th as a reminder, if anyone is able to be so generous! Anyway, on to the point of this post which is I have been wanting to scrapbook a page of Madeline for quite some time, and tonight I saw a photo of her that I just loved. I scrapped this page in under an hour.. the inspiration had struck :)

I left a comment on his blog with a link to the page... I hope he enjoys it. Anyway that's all for now, just wanted to share. I really should go back to bed, now.

More Scrapbook Pages

"Forever" Wedding Rings Page:

"Oh, Sarah!" - Her Visit Sept 2008:

Butterflies in St. Martin:

Grand Bazaar - Istanbul, Turkey:

Whew! I got a bit behind on posting these because I was on such a roll! :) I'm really happy with where I'm at right now. My 2008 scrapbook is totally finished, printed, and put together! And at least I've done ONE more layout for the Greece & Turkey album. I doubt I'll finish that album before the wedding like I had hoped to, but I'm going to do as much as I possibly can!!!!

Ian has his D&D game with his friends this Saturday night, so I will be scrapping scrapping scrapping. That'll give me a good 6-7 hours. I think I'll go to the coffee shop so I can focus and have less distractions, make sure I get a lot done. I would hope to do two or three 2-page layouts in that time if I am really focused!

Some New Layouts

After about a month off, I am finally doing some scrapping again. Just one page so far - haha - but at least it's something!
I also have some I did last month that to the best of my knowledge, I haven't posted here yet, so I am going to share them now. If you've already seen them I apologize!

Sahhhhhhhhhturday

It's Saturday, and I feel "ahhhhhhhhhhh". Very relaxed. We do have a lot to do today but we can just go at our own pace. We slept in and Ian then made breakfast burritos. Last night I went to Kellie's for get 'er done night. Kellie and Cori were both being extremely productive but for once, I just was not feeling it. I did nothing but hang out and play with knitting needles, lol. Still, had a very nice spaghetti dinner over there and lots of fun and laughter with my friends. On the list today... have to go take care of the kittens again (almost done, my parents come home Monday!)... fill a perscription... pick up a few things at the grocery store... and the main thing, try to fix Ian's truck. I can't remember if I mentioned this or not but the drivers seat in his truck broke on Thursday, so we need to try and fix that. He's using my dad's car right now but they get back Monday so definitely need to take advantage of the weekend and get that taken care of. I'm hoping that tonight when we are relaxing again, I can get some more scrapping done! I do have one new LO to share that I did earlier this week. It's the first of probably 3 or so it will take to cover our Taylor Park Camping trip from August.
Hope you like it! This morning I bought a very cute alpha that I can't wait to use!
I think it will be really cute with our photos from Valentine's weekend this year. Especially with all the red in the photos. I might end up scrapping that pretty soon even though it would be out of order. I'm actually proud though of how far I've come with my 2008 book. I'm up to the camping trip in August which only leaves.... Breckenridge/Ian's birthday in September... Vegas in September.... Visiting Sarah in November.... and Christmas. Still a lot, but doing pretty good. My goal is to have 2008 done and my Greece & Turkey book done by the wedding. (I don't think that's really all going to happen, but I will sure try!) I am halfway tempted to start my Greece & Turkey book over, and do it in the same style as Ian's New Zealand book. Simply because it went so much more quickly. However, I don't think it would really work too well as I also have so many maps I want to incorporate, and souvenirs. So I'll have to just keep chugging along :) Sorry this post was mostly about scrapping... that's what is on my mind right now :)
